TUBU Fest 2026

From June 23rd to August 26th, 2026, I was an intern for TUBU Fest, Theatre for Us By Us Festival, an award winning annual disability short fringe theatre festival in Austin, TX hosted at the Ground Floor Theatre. TUBU Fest works with Central Texas artists to produce original works by people with disabilities from all over the world. After that, until the performance on September 25th, I was the Stage Manager for Never Tried to Kill the woman with the Golden Gun.

As an intern, I designed for & helped run the TUBU Fest Instagram and FaceBook, check out some of the posts below! I also wrote Image Descriptions for the Instagram and Facebook posts to assist vision impaired people, and filmed, edited, and acted in internal training videos for the festival’s directors, actors, and stage managers. I additionally assisted in planning and setting up the 2026 TUBU Fest Masquerade, which was a lot of fun! I even got to make an art piece to add to the 2026 TUBU Fest art gallery.

Below are just a few of the posts that I created for TUBU Fest, each image links to an Instagram post

As the Stage Manager for Never Tried to Kill the woman with the Golden Gun, I created schedules, organized cast and crew, and served as the communication between organizers and actors. I took notes throughout rehearsals, found locations for rehearsals to take place, and designed the poster for Never Tried to Kill the woman with the Golden Gun and Für Eliseo, one of the other TUBU Fest plays. I even got to do the makeup for one of the actors, who had “hickeys” on his neck from James Bond. Although this play was short, it was very technically complex, with multiple costume changes, many props, projections, and many sound cues. I loved the experience, it was very fun and it was so satisfying seeing the play come together at the end.
